My fiance is covered in psoriasis. It makes him very self-conscious and he can't afford the medicines that are on the market and he's too scared to even take them due to the side effects. He tries all these homemade tips and tricks and T gel shampoo and everything else but nothing works. It makes me really sad for him. It wasn't as bad when we first met which was 9 years ago but his psoriasis does not make me love him any less. He is still as handsome as ever was.

This is why universal healthcare should be a human right.

Everyone should be happy looking at themselves and go outside feeling confident

I used rose oil in olive oil with a few drops of tea tree and lavender oil. Applied every night and washed in the morning. For 15 Days. I have not had it since, about 10 years.

I feel your pain. I e had psoriasis since 16 and now 46. Been some of the worst things to deal with. Being looked at like a monster. Kids point and ask questions and mothers of those kids turn them away from the nasty guy that nobody understands. I’m not contagious. I’m human.!!!!

I use to have this so bad for 9+ years my parents spent thousands over the years going to lots of private clinics including Philip Kingsley in London some would work for short time but it would come back. I also had psoriasis and Seborrhoeic dermatitis around my ears and face and little patches on legs 😭 I got bullied at school . My mum was telling our local pharmacist one day and he recommended a £5 cream from the 1980’s and combined it with Cade shampoo which cost £25 every other day for 2 months and then just use every 3 -4 days afterwards. I am virtually flake free 8 months on!! 💃🎉
Oh the cream is called aqueous cream.. sorry I didn’t realise I hadn’t included it’s name. I leave on my hair for 1-2 hours. Do a patch test first behind the ear to make sure you not allergic if not you good to go. Then wash out with Cade shampoo.. ✨✨

I used to have really bad psoriasis and tried alot of anti inflammatory diets etc. but nothing worked. eventually i was prescribed methotrexate and my psoriasis cleared completely. People seem to forget that his is an autoimmune disease. a simple salve, cream or shampoo wont really treat anything. Also You see ''blood'' because the skin under that scaled skin, is inflamed and when picking or combing to much will bleed. Its better not to comb like this but just use a gentler salve or shampoo and wash it out. Medication really was the solution for me but this medication is not without risk

I have eczema and it's similar. The treatments are a minimum of 200 bucks. I'll just suffer.

Believe it or not Campho-Phenique literally killed my severe 8 yr scalp issue within a week. I've not had a reoccurring issue since. 5 yr healthy scalp. It's worth a try.

When my son had cradle cap it was advised to use oil to loosen the skin flakes to remove only the dead skin and not be so harsh...

I have this so sis so so bad and my mom when I was younger took me to so so so so many different dermatologists but prescription after prescription after prescription I finally found out that just using a gentle head and shoulders twice a shower every other day and using baby oil letting it sit for an hour and combing it out will help I also get sunburns on my scalp so whenever I have like a sunburn or a cut on my scalp I don’t do anything and it’s been clearing up pretty good! I hope this helps anyone that has it

I suffered with this a lot until I was recommended a particular milk based shampoo. Poof gone like i never had the issue. Need to wash most days to keep it at bay but only use a single pump (short mens hair), so the bottle lasts me 6 months +

That has to be difficult. In 2018 a friend of mine brought up idea of diet change and agreed to the challenge. Stopped bread (gluten), sugar, and a lot of carbs. The journey has changed me and many people. I now try hard to stay away from all processed food. Pretty tough to stay away from processed food but I feel so much better. So many additives in foods and maybe even some of the veggies create issues. I know I feel better when off of processed food items. Probably better to when staying away from foods that are enhanced with something. Think about the word bioavailable ok? Is that additive like the vitamins in the milk truly bioavailable to your body and if not is it harmful? Good luck.

The amount of people commenting here (mainly from the US) saying they can’t afford treatment is absolutely insane to me as someone from a developed country with universal, free healthcare.

*before the comments come in saying it’s not technically free, it’s taken from taxes. You pay taxes too, it’s just you pay a wholeeee lot more on top with health insurance and still don’t get full coverage*

Hi everyone! As a teen here in the UK, I had scalp psoriasis until I used a shampoo called T-Gel. It may have been caused by hormonal changes as I didn't have to use it long but a decade later I rarley have a short spells dandruff (may be stress related idk) let alone flakes and embarrassment

I tried almost every one of the suggested. Found a derma care sold in Europe. But then dove put out an over the shelf dermacare. It cleared it up. Take sugar out of diet too. Olay retinol body wash if you don't have any allergies to retinol helped too. My psoriasis was so thick, it was like a cap. Embarrassing.

It's also caused by the shampoos themselves

I used to have this! But a couple of years ago, I started a medicine for my Crohn's disease (an iv drip every two months) and licky me, it's also used to treat psoriasis! I didn't know it was psoriasis at the time, so it's a happy coincidence 😊
