Amen!!! I do all of the above. Homemade laundry detergent does not work, I have small kids and I will not stop using paper towels, and I hate stiff towels that smell like outside.

I make my own detergent for 2 years now and we using clothes line all the time.

I buy paper towels $.80 or less/ roll is my price point. I will often use the dryer when doing laundry as I live in an apartment house and we do nit have clotheslines.
I purchased laundry detergent at a surplus store $.59 for container that woll give me 64 loads. Also someone gave me a huge container and I bought 2 small ones that were buy 1 get one free. I have laundry detergent for years.
