Took me a while, but I am finally at a place in my life that material things aren't as important as just living life and saving for the future :)

Avoid lifestyle inflation! Oh yes! I am retiring at 59 and will continue to live comfortably, but my friends and colleagues are always asking if I will be financially okay because they are buying boats, cars, even clothes they don't truly need to be happy. 😊

I got a new car a few years ago and I stressed about the payment all the time. It took a paycheck and a half to pay the payment and it was only a 20, 000 dollar car. Then a year after buying the car it was totaled and that took so much stress off my shoulders since I paid for gap insurance. I got a car I could afford and I’m as happy as I was with the new car.

The “is it a need or just a want?” works every time for me…👍🏽 with the upcoming holidays, I have made a point to ignore or walk away from the traps ahead🙌🏽

Wow saving $10 every day adds up to so much. Great idea.

I’m on my way back from my consumeristic tendencies. I have saved so much money over the past two years: a 403b and a high interest savings account. I’m more secure, I don’t want stuff and I’m looking forward to being able to walk into my garage without feeling shame of owning stuff that can only be stored and not used.

That’s what I always do - laugh and tell the sales clerk (when they’re telling me this is on sale, a deal) but I’m savings 100% by not getting it. Great talks

One great question that has helped me tremendously has been asking "Do I WANT or NEED this?" That's what has been helping me save up and only spend on things I really need. Super helpful video Gabe! :)

So true about ads. People think I overreact about ads, but I like not seeing ads. No pressure to spend or consume.

You talk about ads selling a dream... I notice you have links to your favorite coffee, and your favorite shirts, and also your favorite sandals, oh and your meal planner, ah and the day planner, and last but not least your wallet. All of these items seem like such wonderful solutions to that minimalist lifestyle and how convenient that you profit from these links. Lol. You are a salesman. Hell, you are so good most people dont realize they are buying more shit they dont need from a person selling minimalism. Its honestly fucking brilliant.

Hey Gabe! Just wanted to congratulate you on your work, it keeps getting better! Love your vibe! I'm trying to become more and more frugal, but sometimes it seems there's not much else I can do... Lately I've been buying & selling in the second-handed market in order to make some money to invest, and I rarely buy anything new! That's about the best advice I can give: buy used! 🤙🏻

So many great tips. It's an exciting path to start down. We recently started our family budget, and wow!!! We were completely blown away with the amount of cash we were pretty much throwing out the door!
