I never use samples or loops. So I'm straight. I do like how easy sampling and chopping is now, and how inspiring a sample can be.

We as beat makers or producers need to get rid of these problems by not paying them every month and start creating our own sound melodies and drums why pay if we can't use I'm cancelling my subscriptions today

Thank you soo much for this info. Even though I learned a few of these things from school, this was a good reminder‼️
This video definitely helped me finish a project

I also tell ppl to shazam the loop to see who else has used it. Since I came from the sample and chop era of the SP-1200, I know how to flip it or replay it. But alot of new producers don't come from that.

haven’t watched the video yet but i’m pitching all samples either up or down

I use melodies on splice to create my own melodies and chords around it and then delete the sample. I build so much around the loop that I no longer need the loop

Thanks Bolo!
Very rarely use Splice for anything other than beats. I’m one of those rare individuals who can actually play keys, guitar, and sing. I’m not that great at making beats and that’s where Splice comes in because they’ve got a metric tON of nice drum loops/one shots.
I do like some of the female vocalists they have there though.

I’m doing a video on a similar topic. I keep getting copyright claims on drum patterns that I am literally making during the video. It’s crazy.

The issue is when an artist or producer uploads a beat/song using a splice sample to YouTube's Content ID via distributors like Distrokid.

Audio/Video that contains non-exclusive samples (like samples from Splice) are not suppose to be uploaded to Youtube's ContentID. However artists and producers don't read.

As a result the artist/producer that uploads a song/beat to YoutubeContentID, gets everyone else who uploads a beat to YouTube with the same splice sample copyright claimed.

Reading comprehension is the issue.

I’ve always changed the pitch and speed as well chop when dealing with splice

I will continue to use splice samples every now and then. But, I think using and rearranging midi loops is way better, especially if you have a large vst library and effects plugins like stutter edit 2 and shaperbox.

Best way to use Splice is to not use Splice at all lol 👊🧡👍 preferance of course and to each their own ✌️

You can also take the sample melody and turn it into midi.

Really thinking about getting splice, at least for a month or 2 to mess around with different samples. Right now I'm just sampling from old music straight from my phone.

Other good stuff to do is recreate the loop at your own way. I know a lot of famous producer always recreate the samples for not getting in copyright issues

Great Video! What about using Shazam after you make a beat to check if it's being used?

Also Shazam the loops you’ll see how many people searched and which artist used the loops.

Hey, Potential noob question here, recently gotten really into using beatmaker in my workflow as it and astra provide redrum like sequencing capability, but have recently had problems with keeping the sequencer from playing over my session even after I've closed the plug in window or exported a lane or sequence [regardless of audio or midi]

What do I need to do to be able to use it in my sessions similarly to how one might use the redrum sequencer in reason I mentioned before without it breaking my sessions?

Please help + thanks in advance!

I have a big question. How do youtube find out copyright issues?
