Yes, that‘s how you do it! Works like a charm. Big advantage of stainless steel to cast iron or blacksmithed pans is that it also works with oil whereas the others work better with butter after seasoning.

Did same stuff w great hi point oil, let smoke to smoke a bit more, did like 8 layers and after first cooking everything sticked and was a fail ...😢

I tried this with my new meyer pan but the middle of the pan became brownish and more sticky. What did I do wrong and how can I salvage this?

So...
1. Pour oil generously, spread all over pan, heat till smoking point, cool the pan, wipe off
2. Repeat step 1 above, 3 to 4 times?

That's quite time consuming! It would take about half an hour. But worth it, if it keeps it non-stick for a month !!

It's a waste of time each and every usage you need to season. Useless product. I bought it for Rs.6000 in Chennai. You can't use a cokking vessel without washing in water. Each and every wash you need to season it again and again. As one person has pointed out here the middle portion turned very dark and it became very rough and stick even after proper seasoning . Its now unusable. Waste of money.

Bs. No need to season stainless steel at all. Only cast iron or carbon steel.
