How to configure Virtual Directories in IIS 8 on Windows server 2012

A virtual directory is the name of the directory pointing to the path that we specify in IIS and map the physical directory on a local or remote server.

Hey Gerry, You need to configure website anonymous account access with the same windows user account that you logged on. Application pool would also need to be configured running with your windows user account as well. If you don't want to use your windows user account, you can create a new account and assign appropriate permission. Let me if you have any problem see ya :)

you have created a download folder for virtual directory thing; my html is simple one do I have to still create download folder and try it?

as I tried it also but it shows "page can not be displayed" not sure if I am going on correct path

I have a question, how can I set a default virtual directory in IIS? Suppose, I have created a virtual directory name 'TEST1', now when I specify 'localhost' in browser, I want my TEST1 site will be browsed. Kindly help.

Why the URL is not "app.petercrys.com/downloads" but it shows the virtual directory right away? Can you control access to the virtual directory via in-app login? Not iIIS Authentication but with Routes with Authorize attribute in MVC. Thanks.

Hi Sachin,

This is probably a very basic question I suppose.
I have two servers Windows 2012, one is installed and configured with AD, DNS, DHCP with the domain name ziordom.com. The other is install and configure with IIS 8.
I have created an application using VS 2012 using net 4.5 and I have stored it on wwwroot.
Please advise me what to.
