How to create Virtual Directory in IIS on Windows Server 2019 [WEB SERVER 04]

A virtual directory is just a pointer to a different location on Web Server. It points to a fixed path on disk that is different from the root folder. You are always free to keep the intended virtual directories inside or the outside of the Website root folder. It works on 2 factors:
A) The alias name you set in IIS configuration manager.
B) The physical path of the intended virtual directories you set.

In a nutshell, Virtual directory in a directory that is created in IIS to host a local application and/or some files, folders on the web server.

Why bother creating virtual directory, when you can do the same by creating a folder in root and store everything and browse the list of files from the browser.
