Thank you so much for teaching all these various setups. I am in the UK and managed to get a UK army tarp from a house clearance auction for just £1. I am a home educating Mum, and my daughter and I love learning all these types of things. We are going to try these setups out in our garden.

We keep a DD tarp in all of our vehicle emergency kits.... me, the wife, and our adult children. We all agree that the Tarp Tent use is the best choice for this. All the out points have been painted orange so there isn't any confusion. We all use a tyvec ground cloth that we made to fit. The best emergency shelter that we could come up with if we had to leave the vehicles. Thanks for the video.... gives us alternatives if need be. God bless brother. Always love the content. Don't stop what you're doing.

Nice video. I love seeing how people all over the world are doing these vids on tarps, and all have a little extra tweak, unique to their own experience. Using a ridge line to suspend the tarp tent shape is less common here, but great! I use the DD 3x3 a lot and when canoeing, I like to set up as a tent shape. I use both paddles to create a strong and simple 'A' frame. Basically, turn the tarp bag inside out so the coating provides a little extra grip and friction on the inside of the tarp, and it helps protect it. Pop the inside out bag over the top of the handles of your paddles, pull the draw string tight and tie it around with the cord. Then, inside the tarp tent, place the handles into the area of that first reinforced tie out, which is on top, and spread them out to the sides. The blades of each paddle lie flat to the sides and there is loads of space inside the shelter to rest up or sleep, cook on a small stove etc. If you are in the woods, you can do the same with two cut poles, but remember to chamfer the top of each and pad them inside the tarp bag with a spare hat, glove, sock, scarf, cloth etc... or, again, use two trekking poles to create that 'A' frame. Happy tarping folks!!

Oh yes... I remember camping in a good old A-frame back in the boy scouts. Sturdy and reliable. If it got really really rainy we just dug up some small trenches around it to help drain the water from the frame and problem solved. Cool vid.

Nice demonstration of different setups! Not too long but long enough to show them well! I've been in the mountains and rain was pouring and no flat ground around and then at night the wind really picked up! It was hard to setup because of the rocks everywhere and me stressing about trying to set it up quickly but in the end the A-frame served me well, but I had to close the flaps on both ends in order to not feel too cold from the flowing wind too! It served its purpose but wasn't the best night sleep! And it got still wet inside from the condensation, meaning, the cloud passing through the tarp. Definitely didn't look as well setup as the A-frame in this video!

Use them on all my adventures months in a row. Always nice as you never know how you have to set it up end of the day. Coyote brown is my favourite as it blends in nice with snow and desert and everything in between.
On the four corners I use some bungee cord this will save your tarp in heavier weather.

Thanks for the demo, but it's the beard that really shines 😂. Awesome. I would like to see these performing in really windy conditions sometime. The plow point looks great but those massive sides seem like a potential problem... I've struggled with tarps in windy conditions and generally failed 😢.

0:45 the very first setup is my favorite setup. However, i lift mine about a foot off the ground. Why? Because I like to see everything around us.
I use the DD super light camo design.
