Irritations of the scalp could be of various reasons .These reasons could be medical or beauty related products, some of the products that we use on our scalp from time to time. Some of these common reasons could be heat styling, excessive blow drying using irons could irritate the scalp and cause dryness of the scalp. Sometimes it can be certain products that we use, that we place on the scalp that can cause, that can aggravate the dryness and sensitivity. Sometimes some medical conditions that can cause dermatitis, or eczema or psoriasis can aggravate the condition. Apart from this, there are also other factors like heredity, if you are prone to having sensitive skin and you have dry scalp then, you need to be aware of what you are using on the scalp. Now, what can we do about an irritated scalp? What we can do is to reduce the heat styling, to use as little products on the scalp as possible and if at all, use a hypoallergenic substance that is a substance that does not make you sensitive and cause allergies. Look on the product label, if they are particularly saying that they are hypoallergenic You could also use a SLS free shampoo that is less aggressive on the scalp and helps to retain more moisture and oiliness in the scalp, within the scalp . It is also advisable to condition your scalp and also oil condition it, that means use oil regularly , maybe once a week or twice a week, just leave it on the scalp and wash it off and that would condition the scalp and make it less dry some of the other treatment that you could do really depends on the condition that you have. If it is a medical condition, it is important to have your scalp checked out by a dermatologist who may prescribe certain medicines whether, depending on the condition that is existing. If it is a fungal infection, they may prescribe an antifungal agent, or if it is a bacterial infection causing folliculitis, they may prescribe certain antibiotics or antibiotic ointments, so it is important to have it checked up by your dermatologist.

My Family Fixed This - Naturally:
1. Wash your hair with Sulfur 8 shampoo, using a silicone scalp massager.
2. Let it dry naturally. Be sure to blot the excess water with a brand new towel or one that you have never used on your hair / body before.
3. That night, SMOTHER your entire head with Vaseline - wrap it in a scarf and sleep that way. Why? The easiest, most 'natural' way to kill the yeast / candida and anything else that is living on your scalp which is what is probably happening - in a matter of minutes - is to simply smother it - NO OXYGEN means no ability to breathe, thrive, grow or survive.
4. The next morning, mix bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil (whatever ration you want...it really does not matter) into a bowl (do not use a metal spoon when mixing clay - use plastic or wood only). SMOTHER your scalp with the clay, let it dry then just sit under the shower and let it rinse off until the water runs clear. You may need to do this a few times to get all of the Vaseline off of your scalp and hair - but you'll see that you've just 'killed' the yeast when not one hair follicle itches.
Repeat weekly, or as often as you need to and be sure to hot wash with white vinegar and baking soda all of the bedding, towels, clothing and anything else that it may be living on. (fyi never mix bleach and vinegar). We tried this - and it literally solved the problem overnight. If there is a new issue we just repeat the process. Good luck and God Bless!

Also, another reason you might have itchy scalp is HISTAMINE INTOLERANCE.
I don't hear doctors mentioning it. I had to find out for myself.
Look up: histamine intolerance symptoms. You'll be SURPRISED!!!
