Vimana: Ancient Flying Machines?

The ancient Sanskrit texts speak about incredible flying craft called Vimana, which partly means “traversing,” that are circular in shape, able to hover and can fly at high speeds. The texts also seem to describe mercury as being used for part of the propulsion systems.Q Did the ancients of the prehistoric past possess lost ancient technology that enabled them to fly such craft?

I don't see why people don't take the constructions of these things as possible, honey, milk, mercury, these all have very unique properties that nothing else actually does. Maybe there is a reason they claimed these ingredients were used in their propulsion

I saw one documentary about the texts and how they describe these things. It really sounded to me like those were just advanced races battling each other in the end. Or it was an ancient race which got destroyed by the comet, but people in the underground caverns survived.
