One text gives details on the fabrication of a Vimana, especially its engine. It's described as a Mercury vortex, electromagnetic drive. In laymens terms, Liquid Mercury is surrounded by powerful magnets which creates a powerful magnetic field, which causes anti-gravity, in addition it also forms a force field around the Vimana which cancels out inertia.
