Business owner killed, wife duct taped by fake DTE workers in Oakland County home

A business owner in Oakland County was murdered and his wife was bound with duct tape by two impostors posing as DTE Energy workers investigating a supposed gas leak.

My wife wouldn't let our city water people in our house because they didn't notify us they were coming, when she spoke with their supervisor, he said ma'am, they had a marked vehicle, she said it could have been stolen.

I experienced a similar situation back in 1995. I happened to have a gun, but they didn't know. They left quickly when I told them I was going to make a quick phone call to confirm the work order, and they could see me on the phone through the door window. That spooked them enough to leave. DON'T OPEN YOUR DOOR TO ANYONE YOU'RE NOT EXPECTING AND DON'T KNOW.

This is something we all fear. I myself have called the police because some one was @ my door at 7pm wanting to see my " gas bill" Never answer the door folks. Call the police.

Why did they take the husband to the basement & take his life but left the wife upstairs and walked pass her out the door leaving her alive…What I have yet to understand is how did the wife get away after being tied up? This is not making sense to me…

Don’t open ur doors period, if u don’t know them don’t answer. Talk to them Thur a ring doorbell or Thur the window or a storm door . People act like they r dte or city workers or they just push u and over power u and force their way into ur house,

A man who lives in a house like that probably has a very lucrative life insurance policy. They need to investigate all the people that could benefit from he’s death.
