I have a generally very sweet cat but even with him I was so nervous I wouldn't be able to train him. I spent 2 weeks working him up to full treatment. First I surrounded the inhaler in treats so he would get used to being near it. Then I'd hold a treat by the mask, and if he even moved towards it, he'd get a treat. Then I'd hold him and place the mask over his face, just a touch, followed by treats. Then I'd hold it over his face for longer and longer, followed by treats. Finally I introduced the medication, which scared him a bit at first. But now he's a champ! He gets in position, calmly lets me administer the meds, and purrs waiting for his treat <3 Pro tip it definitely helps to dispense it BEFORE you put it on your cat's face!

I was convinced I didn't have a chance of getting my cat Ruby to use an aerosol. It took a couple of weeks to slowly get her used to it using normal dry cat food as treats. Now she jumps on the bed waiting for it. Works far better than oral pills too.

Also you should use a damp soft cloth or cotton round to help wipe off the medicine from that cats face!! Great video ❤️

I wish my baby were that well behaved and cooperative. She does not like anything going into her mouth and she's smart would not eat her food with anything in it. She'd rather starve than eat it 😅 These videos are supposed to help but sometimes can be so frustrating, especially when most us don't have pets this cooperative. 🤔🤔

How long does the mask need to stay on the cat’s face? How many breaths? I’ve been training my cat to lick Churus from inside the mask. Can they lick the mask and still inhale the medication?
