I'm 41 and lost and still losing weight from giving up added sugar over a month ago (i was a bit of an addict) Not saying my stomach is as flat as a pancake but still certainly reduced in size! Its the knock on effect of sugar....you give it up, and your cravings go and you're finally able to control your hunger.🎉

I love it 🤩

Thank you 🙂

Truly has worked for me. Not easy at the beginning but very worth it. My esteogen and insulin levels are way better and so is my sleep. One thing that works for me is if I have sugar it has to be way early in the day before 3p. Wishing patience, love and compassion to you and your body. ❤

Truly appreciate your posts... Sugar has always been an issue.

People probably should do this all their lives tbh. When I think about that article where Harvard was PAID to downplay the risks of sugar against fat, it makes me sick. All the childhood obesity and diabetes which then lends itself to sugar addiction and the problems in menopause etc… disgusting.

I am very addicted to chocolate. Recently to help with the cravings I make my coffee with cocoa powder and I then measure the sugar mixed in and then add soy milk (I can’t have most dairy) and it helped me pay attention to how much sugar really is in everything.
Also I had made a cake for my son with homemade icing and he told me he liked the cake but the icing made him sick. And it just hit me like why am I creating this sugar paste that is so much sugar and feeding it to my kids? So I banished powder sugar and we have been dabbling in healthier options for birthdays. One of the biggest hits is my black bean cupcakes. No one believes me that there is no flour in them! Yes there is sugar but way less than icing!
All this to say is processed sugar really is deceiving and not worth it!

Wow, I'm so happy to find you. Menopause is kicking my butt and there is so much misinformation out there. Sugar is definitely a hot flush trigger for me. I'm going to look at the rest of your content now.

I need to quit drinking wine - it makes me terribly anxious the next day.

I like what you said about being on a budget with sugar. That makes so much sense.

I’ve not drank alcohol and avoided processed sugar and even processed grains (most grains) for 2 months and I’ve lost about 15 lbs! Feeling so much more energetic, I can work out daily too!

I just love this doctor I wish she lived near me and was my doctor. I've never heard anyone else talk about these issues and she's always so spot on. I also did ketosis and lost 20 pounds it was like a hell month with no carbs at all. Now I allow fruits which are carbs but my life is so much better it is so much more doable.

I swear by this; No added sugar, No fast carbohydrates and No alkohol. Ever since I implemented this, my perimenopausal symptoms have disappeared and my cycles back to normal again after having lived in nuttown for over a year.

I know for me, it was a definite factor in my weight loss!! I dropped white sugar, white salt, red meat, pork fried, white flour from my diet 4 years ago and managed to get completely off insulin and drop my A1C and keep it at a steady 5.1. The next thing I have to take on is battling my weight!! No matter how good my diet is, it's a constant battle, you know!? I hate getting older!!!😏

Appreciate that you mention having a "sugar budget" for our less healthy options. I have neeever been successful on a diet that removed all sugars/junk food - treats bring me too much joy in life, and i end up over-indulging after a couple weeks of trying. But i CAN manage strictly portion controlling them, and only eat a couple of cookies after work. Or i have a tiny bowl for the chips i want to eat while watching a movie.

Love your post 😍. Honestly I can take processed sugar or leave it, I don’t have a sweet tooth anymore (for many years) and 99% of the time I choose to leave it because I know how bad it is for my body.
Oh, and I avoid ultra processed food as well (lots of hidden sugars there)!

But the CRAVING. My body is asking for sugar constantly. How do you get rid of that?

I am diabetic, so that's what I've had to do since being diagnosed.
