Adding Effects To a Track In Reaper DAW

Here is how to add an effect plugin to a track in Reaper. Reaper is a digital audio workstation (DAW) program that allows you to do multi-track audio recording and mixing.

It is so easy these days to add effects to JUST a single track in a mix of many tracks, which was not easy in the days before computers (yeah, I remember those days :-)). With Reaper (and it works the same basic way for any other DAW), you just click a button and choose which effect(s) you want to add to any track. There are several different types of plugins, like VST, AU (for Mac), etc. This video shows you how to add a VST plugin to a track.

Great video! I have added amplitube effects to get a good rock guitar sound on track one, but do you know how I can get the same sound on track two etc? Can I copy the effect chain and setup of the amp somehow? Or do I have to manually set the amp and effects up for every track? I would really appreciate the help. - Kevin

Can i ask....when i put song ..for example so far away by avenged savenfold...we must set the tempo and time signature for that song or just use the reaper tempoh (120bpm)(4/4) already ...if you know i mean..my english not good aswell...

do you know if I can somehow add VST effect before an actual sound? Like say I recorded a clean guitar (not just DI) with my hardware guitar preamp, and I want a VST overdrive pedal (like Tube Screamer or so) to appear before the sound, not after, like in real world - pedal into the amp.
