Three flavors of marshmallows from one base recipe: we'll make vanilla, chocolate, and raspberry marshmallows. This is a gelatin based recipe that is super fluffy, stable enough to cut into shapes if you like, and stores very well.

Tip for cutting marshmallows: keep a cup of warm to hot water and a towel or paper towel close by. The warm water will dissolve the marshmallow that's going to try to cling to your cookie cutter and/or knife, and then you tap on the towel to make sure you don't drip water.

Got to learn this trick as a teen when I made my big sister's graduation cake that needed decorations best achieved with cut jumbo marshmallows. It's been one of my favorite simple tricks ever since.

Thanks for the new receipe and variations! I haven't made any for a long time, but if I could find my stand mixer in a box somewhere (yay moving twice in a pandemic) I'd certainly try.

Word of caution to those with only hand mixers! Homemade marshmallows are heavy and hard to near impossible to whip without a stand mixer unless you're crazy buff and even then it's going to be a struggle. So if you can't afford to possibly lose the ingredients to a failed attempt AND break your hand mixer (yes, I'm speaking from experience), skip this for now. Save the video and come back later. There's plenty of other things just on this channel you CAN do without breaking your mixer. 😉👍
