All you have to do is eat beef and eggs and lift weights to stay healthy and slow aging.

In other news, eggs are better than tofu

I went vegan for 6 months. I ate a lot of food everyday and was very concentrated on getting enough protein. It literally didnt matter. It was like my body couldn't unlock anything in the food. I rapidly lost weight to the point of being smaller than i was in high school. I looked like hell and felt even worst. I eventually got a bad infection that almost killed me, my body had nothing to fight with, the infection got in my blood and eventually in my brain. Now 6 years later i am 100% carnivore. Its all i eat is beef, bacon butter and eggs. My body has never felt better, i lost 35 pounds, but it was water and fat. I continue to gain muscle and am getting stronger everyday in the gym.

I tried vegan for a year....caught walking pneumonia. I went to my ENT and he put me on 10 days of antibiotics by self injection. I came back after 10 days still sick. My ENT was incredulous that I wasn't better. He started questioning about my life...stress level, sleep, etc. Finally got to diet and I proudly responded, vegan! He was shocked! He told me I needed to start eating meat twice a day because my body wasn't processing veg protein or amino acids. I started eating meat, gave myself 10 more days of injections, and got well 😊

This study is funded by National Cattleman’s Beef Association, which doesn't seem to be mentioned in this video, and if a study finding the opposite had been presented by Mediterranean diet proponents or vegans, I bet he would have mentioned that. Also, the groups are very small 8 each, after they each lost 2-3 participants, which is a significant percentage in with sample sizes this small, which I think he would mention if the paper didn't agree with him also. Yes there is lower leucine in soy, but you are not going to eat just 1 meal in a day, and this probably doesn't represent the total protein synthesis if you eat even plant proteins throughout the day--See Dr. Layne Norton's video "New Science Says Plant Protein is Superior | What the Fitness | Biolayne" (Dr. Norton does disagrees with the doctor promoting plant protein as superior, but would also I think see the problems in the study HIH presents). Also, anabolism from protein isn't the only important factor in muscle mass since insulin is anabolic (or possibly anti-catabolic, since there is some debate about this), but is not to play a role in muscle mass.

Back in the 90s, I followed an octo vegan diet. I only ate eggs once in a while, but I lost muscle mass, and I put on fat. When I went back to eating red meat and eggs every day. I put muscle mass back on and I lost fat. But, I also switch to a keto diet. I took in lots of fat and protein.

My body is thriving on mostly red meat. Plenty of fats and very low carb. As we age, we need to take advantage of every nutrient we can absorbed. 58 and trail running g long distances is challenging on the body. Love this way of eating. 🙏

Beef ALL the way. Actually, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised eggs, and wild-caught fish are my go-to. Let the folks who like soy enjoy their soy, without it being imposed on folks who don't want it. The food cops should just take a breath of air, relax, and back off.

Thanks 🙏 more confirmation of what I already suspected 🍖 I feel much better when I'm eating meat, like my body prefers it

My DNA comes from Sweden/Poland too, so it makes sense since those ancestors relied a lot on animal protein

I have always been stronger, leaner and energetic when I consumed beef. The false information out here is why many don’t eat beef and will miss out on its benefits.

Here's a ChatGPT summary:

- A recent study found that animal-sourced protein stimulates muscle protein synthesis more effectively than plant-based protein.
- The study included three groups: a four-ounce beef patty, a four-ounce soy-based patty, and an eight-ounce soy-based patty.
- Despite the eight-ounce soy patty having almost double the protein content of the four-ounce beef patty, the beef patty still resulted in greater muscle protein synthesis.
- The amino acid composition of protein sources is crucial for stimulating muscle protein synthesis, not just the total protein content.
- The study highlighted that reduced grip strength is linked with a 45% increase in all-cause mortality, emphasizing the importance of muscle strength.
- The study concluded that a four-ounce beef patty stimulates muscle and whole-body protein synthesis more than a four-ounce soy patty and similarly to an eight-ounce soy patty.
- Essential amino acids, which the body cannot produce, are more abundant in animal-sourced foods compared to plant-sourced foods.
- The study suggests that animal-sourced proteins like beef, eggs, and lamb are superior for muscle protein synthesis compared to plant-based alternatives.
- For those choosing a vegan diet, a higher intake of protein is necessary to match the muscle protein synthesis effects of animal proteins.
- Main message: Animal-sourced proteins are more effective at stimulating muscle protein synthesis than plant-based proteins, due to their superior amino acid composition.

There is a scholarly article that demonstrates that non animal protein eaters must consume 100% quality plant protein and even then it is not enough.

Funny how this is still under discussion in relation to humans when we were creating formulations for animal feed in the '70s with computers to get exactly the right amount of certain amino acids as well as about 20 other parameters to sole at lowest cost.

Food companies should not be allowed to list only total "protein." They should have to list amino acid composition. Amino acid composition is all that really matters, not just whether a "food" has any amino acids.

Many people are eating foods with added protein like protein bars, protein shakes WITH added sugar or sweeteners. But many do not exercise or they are sedentary. High protein diet alone does not make you gain strength necessary to walk at moderate speed. US population lacks physical activity.

Herbivores can synthesise amino acids from non-protein nitrogen sources which are abundant in plants (yet are still included in crude protein measurements). They possess the adaptations that allow an animal to live on (mostly) plant material (because no herbivore is stupid enough to pass up a meal of meat or eggs if one presents itself).

Humans require preformed amino acids. Testing from the same soybean crop found crude protein varied by up to 20% and individual amino acids varied by as much as +/- 45%! That's far too much variance to provide reliable nutrition.

Dr Peter Ballerstedt explains the difference between plant and animal proteins beautifully.

There's nothing wrong telling vegans they're wrong. Ethical concerns are often overblown and consumers would often do better to support ethical sources rather than abstinence.

Funding
"The project was financially supported by a grant from the National Cattleman’s Beef Association."

MPS does not mean more muscle mass. They know this, which is why they design studies based upon MPS, not muscle mass accretion. Anyone who understands human physiology knows this. This is intentionally deceptive marketing, not science.
