This adaptation felt very accessible to someone like me who didn’t read the book but wanted to avoid getting bogged down by exposition. I actually wanted a little more exposition at times because I was so fascinated. And I’m very impressed with the fact that the super challenging task of evoking the atmosphere of the world visually never felt like it wasn’t met.

Already watched the movie 4 times in cinema and somehow I always want to watch it again the next day...
I never had this feeling with any other movie.
The little details in this movie amaze me every time! Example: When in one scene Jessica is crying and in the next scene she shows no signs of sadness. This shows the Bene Gesserit training and how they can suppress their feelings.

Update: I have watched it 7 times now 😅 and bought the movie too !

I really like how Denis portrayed what happens to a person when the voice is used on them, it’s like a black out/ portal type of visual. Genius. I can’t wait to see it again.

Timothee was amazing.. Really all the actors were so real it felt like they believed it.... The onrnothopters and tech was perfectly thought out and not cheese cgi it looked very realistic.. Especially compared to other scifi movies... This seemed real.. Ive seen the movie 4x I need the 4 hour directors cut and all the behind the scenes..

It's amazing how they can fly to another planet and film the movie and not needing additional oxygen.

If you haven't read the book, go there and do it. You will notice that the movie is like a book summary. If you liked what was on screen, there's much more on paper ((for example there is always a description of what the characters are thinking) . Few things are different, some actions changed their place or timeline, but it was one of the most respectful adaptations I've ever seen.

I watched pReview'd review and they brought up a good point. A lot the newer and younger generations are going to watch Dune and assume its just copying a lot from other sci-fi movies, like star wars but actually its the reverse cuz Dune was the influence for most of the genre itself.

its cool that timothee chalamet and denise just speak french to each other and then move on to english when speaking to everyone else
