An arithmetic progression (AP) is a list of numbers in which each term is obtained by adding a fixed number d to the preceding term, except the first term. The fixed number d is called the common difference. Remember that it can be positive, negative or zero.

Gn: n=20, nth term is => an= 5+4n
We need a and d
a1= 5+4(1)
a1 = 9
a2 = 5+4(2)
a2= 13
WKT a2-a1 =d
->13-9 =4 =d
By applying sum of n terms formula,
Sn= n/2[2a+ (n-1)d]
= 20/2[2×9+ (20-1)4]
= 10[ 18 +76]
= 10(94)
= 940
Therefore the sum of first 20 terms is 940 :) ❤

And 1st term = 5+4×1=9

Therefore, Sn =n/2(a1 +an)
Sn =20/2 (9+85)
Sn =10× 94
Sn=940 ans

Homework solution:
nth term=5+4n
From this a=5
Sn=n/2(a+l)
Sn=20/2(5+5+4(20)
Sn=10(10+80)
Sn=10(90)
Sn=900
So the sum of first 20 terms given here is 900.
