I've seen several cute videos with really young kids at a ballet recital where one freaks out and Dad (often a really big guy) gets up on stage to dance with them. Dad knows all the steps too because he's been helping the little one practice. Hillarious and heart melting!!

No, that is NOT numbing gel. It will feel like you swiped fire over your wound. It's a medical adhesive that can help speed the healing time and is good for irregular surfaces where a bandaid might not cover closely enough. Putting it over a broken blister like that takes hardcore pain tolerance! 😆 (The pain does wear off after a few seconds as it dries.)

Back in 1969, when I got my first pointe shoes, they were the classic old style, long and slim, tiny platform shoes. I have solid, extra wide feet, rectangular, with a very high instep. Pointe shoes and I were not friends, however I persisted, from January through to June. At that point I had to leave the UK for 3 month, for a German language scholarship. When I returned...disaster! My dog had mussed me so much she had dug out the thing that smelled the most like me (or so I'm told) - my poite shoes were a shredded, tangled, unwearable mess. We didn't have the money to buy more, I ended up wearing shoes that members of the company had finished with.

Okay, I have to say, I found the comments about Freeds and Capezios hysterical. They were my go to shoes (I worked in a dance shop which had an exclusive deal with Capezio, then I studied in London, and I could get Freeds at £10 a pair. You est believe that one of my suitcases was full when I came home!) But, that having been said, SO TRUE!!!!

The torn toe with the Hulk bandaid? Back in the day, we would use Anbasol to numb our toes. We used to use that when we had multiple performances on the same day and needed to get through them!

Those are Sebastopol Geese grom.Sourhern Germany. They have spiral or wavy feathers. There are chickens who have fluffy heads, ducks that look like they are wearing wigs too. Lots of Ornamental Poultry lol
