I bet Luke has a single folder on his desktop titled “Clarence choking” and the video file of Clarence choking on the plant is the only file in there

i have a baby ranchu! he's very small so can't choke on his pebbles, but he is alone in his 75 gallon tank! i'm going to get him a friend and try to switch out the pebbles with sand soon.

Keep in mind some fancies are more sensitive to warmer water. Mine often had stomach issues if they got too warm.

Thank you this is very helpful. My aunt breed axolotl’s and I’m hoping to get one from her next year. I’ve done a lot of research and I know it’s different for axolotl’s, but any information I can get on aquatic stuff is needed :)

My goldfish outside in the cold Scottish winter. But got a plastic lid for them last winter. So they are happier

Thank you for saying this, altho most of the info most fish need. I hated when I worked at petsmart and ppl would buy a fish (usually a beta) and a super tiny crappy fish bowl, no filters, no air stone, no nothing. You try to educate them and they roll their eyes and make their original purchase then get pissed in like a week when it dies and they have to come back.

My 8yo has been begging for a fish for a couple if years now, but I've been very hesitant to purchase one for hum because of the cost associated with it, but also because of the amount of care they require. We've already got 6 rats, they're honestly enough for me and I know I'll be the one having to take care of it

I'm gonna show him this video, looking forward to showing him the next one too. Thanks!

I know someone with fish and he used to have them in his basement for the longest time. Some workers blew a fuse down there and the light went out in the tank. Thankfully it was caught fast enough and fixed so I don't think any fish died.

Something I’ve learned over the past couple years is that, plants create oxygen for the fish, the fish take in oxygen, they eat and do their waste, the plants take in the waste, and create more oxygen with it :D
Highly recommend getting a plant, it also keeps the water very clear along with a good filter. I started out with the hardest plants ever and got rid of them. My grandmother has been growing a Pothos longer than I’ve been alive, and she cuts off pieces for me every once in awhile and I add them to my tank. It’s essentially something I don’t even have to touch it just does its thing. And they grow so well in tanks and the fish nibble on them but not enough to kill the plant. It looks more natural and I LOVE them. Highly recommend the Pothos plant as well. As I said there’s basically no care to them aside the lighting. You plop them in the tank and let them thrive. If they get too big, chop them off and give them to a friend or another tank.

A heater brings up metabolism which is Wonderful for growth but not for ammonia build up, especially in a tank as small as a 20 gallon. Warmer water will also make ammonia more toxic. You can also get more dissolved oxygen in colder water. So over all unless you're growing the fish out its usually a better shout to keep it cooler (65-70f)
They are carp after all and thrive happily at that colder temp.
I always suggest a minimum of 30g with 15g ontop for each extra as well but a smaller tank is possible with a lot of water changes.

As a subscriber who lives in a tropical country, I have fancy GF in my diy outdoor pond and since I live in the tropics using a heater is just optional because it really gets cold here during rainy seasons or during or after December. I suggest getting an aquarium fan/blower instead because most of the time it's warm or scorching hot in here.

Im sitting on 65F and dont worry Ranchu still florish without a heater ! X

SAND or FINE GRAVEL ONLY! Im with you on that :)

Just gravel take a little more time to clean but a decent gravel cleaner will make it alot quicker :) (likely to lose more sand than gravel using one)

AND NEVER JUST GET ONE THEY ARE NEEDY AF!

Not trying to portray an expert but if a bit of experience helps then im happy 😊
