Why Giant Hornets Fear Tiny Honeybees

The reason why Giant hornets (Vespa mandarinia) fear small Japanese honeybees(Apis cerana japonica) is that when honeybees　capture a hornet, they swarm around it like a ball and kill it with heat. Because of this, Giant hornets act cautiously when attacking Japanese honeybees hives.

If hornets were afraid of bees, they would not go close to a bee hive.

Evolution hasn't kicked in that far for the hornets to know why to be afraid

For the who don't know hornets grab a small bee if it grabs one the other ones makes a ball on horney and the tiny bees swing their wings so the temparute goes cold inside the ball

Hornets doesn't fear honeybees. As far as I know, they have bonds of predator and prey, respectively.
However, bees in fact won't submit to be preyed and reacts swarming around predator by means of hive defense.
