Male Bees, Wasps, Ants and Hornets Cannot Sting You!!

Just in case you didn't know... Male bee's, wasps, ants and hornets cannot sting. Only the females can. 50% of Hymenopteran's that you encounter in your lifetime, are totally harmless.

The reason why it doesn't sting it's because the human is holding his legs, so the wasp can't anchor them on the skin. They put a lot of force and make a strong abdominal strike, that can't be done without the legs being stuck in the skin. That's why when you get stung you can perfectly feel something holding on to your skin one moment before "OUCH"! Moreover the angle human/sting is not perpendicular which makes it even more difficult to stuff the sting in.
You can clearly see the sting moving in and out btw, cool :D

This is a male cicada killer wasp. It's one of the very few species of wasps in which even the males have "stingers". If you look closely, you can see the "stinger". However, it's not venomous and it isn't really painful.

My dad is a beekeeper, so I can approve that male bees cannot sting, I don’t know about wasps and hornets though
