If every entry level job required experience, how are new applicants ever gonna get the experience??

If you feel while reading the JD that you can do the job using skills you gathered over your course work, side hustles, working for your dad’s business, etc, you should apply for the role, even if don't have a full time comparable experience.

Thank you for your advice! I believe point #1 is relevant to anyone searching for a job, even those with experience. Your video gave me the confidence to apply for more positions. Previously, I felt unqualified if I didn’t meet 100% of the listed requirements.

Thanks! I am working on transitioning into accounting (hopefully) going to get my masters in accounting, then plan to either get a job as a public accountant, or use my current experience working in the government and parlay it into a government accounting role. Then get the CPA after a year or two. Currently in the application process for the graduate degree, so far so good! Oh important to note as well with the mention towards the end on the masters, since I do have a non-accounting background I figure it best to get that first and foremost over trying to find work in it while having the Masters.

Thanks for this!
I don't have an accounting degree, but my undergrad is a Secondary Education major in Mathematics, and I am a licensed teacher. Now, I am working things out to transition into accounting but focusing on bookkeeping. Good thing I love organizing things, which is relevant to accounting. This made me hopeful. Can I make it?
What advice will you give? Thank you.

I have so many questions relating to your topic. I'm currently on this same journey. Career changing from culinary/management to accounting. I'm in school for accounting to get my associates. Yet because my resume has more culinary and management experience which has many employers are not even giving me the opportunity to even interview. But thank you, Bill, for wisdom. I appreciate you.

I am dissapointed today just learned from hiring manager I don't have enough experience to apply for job. They always look for experience ones eventho someone has the education background for the job and had few project experiences. The job unfortunately not many has. So securing one is a big deal.

How long after graduating with a bachelors would you recommend an accountant start studying for the CPA exam? A video question on this would be great.
