I would never, ever, ever, FUCKING EVER allow my name to be attached to a referral without knowing that person. ESPECIALLY if I actually liked my job.

Some recruiting teams will do a courtesy interview when they receive a referral but most don’t. Even if you are qualified for the role there are no guarantees that you’ll get the job. Competition these days is tough as there so many layoffs happening. Wishing everyone much continued success!!

Funny that she is standing in front of Google when she said this because my daughter got a job at Google due to a referral from a girl she was friends with in her college marching band. Still had to go through about 6 interviews. Her friend did get a $2, 500 bonus when my daughter got hired.

I love you for sharing this with me. I have been dying at my current job because everyone there is very toxic and racist waiting to get out but in New York. It’s really hard to find a job if you just graduated.. you don’t know how much you have helped me by saying this. Thank you. You’re amazing.

Funny thing is, I just started this awesome job because I went to the company's website and applied. Their talent acquisition person reached out and got me the interviews and moved things along. 😊

This coming from someone who thinks a 15% raise is realistic!!!

Lol, I referred people as an intern in grad school, one got hired, got paid nearly 2 weeks salary for it (which is saying something when my internship was 10 weeks to begin with)

i was gonna say that if your a bad hire the referer could be negatively impacted, but in this job market youd just go somewhere new and have former job friends be references

Wow, I never knew this existed! Where was this years ago when I was trying to get into large companies but I had no one to refer me?
