I started just recently doing like 8 sets of traps on my back days. I just hold a 45 lb weight in each hand and do like 16-20 reps each set and they’ve grown so much so fast

like calves, upper traps are extremely resilient. If you try barbell shrug myorep match sets in the 15-30 rep ranges, you will grow them well. It does demand actual effort though.

Arnold would do dumbbell raises all the way up. Like it was crazy range of motion and everyone is like freaking out when I do my raises over the shoulders. The traps definitely get some work. You got to absolutely blast the side raises something with heavy work. Sometimes you can do them very light but not allow the weight all the way down

Im shrugging for days at a decent weight for me too but after watching your trap vid with DLB im holding the squeeze for a few seconds. Definately felt more today.

I add a shrug at the top of my side delt movments. Preferably above parallel if shoulders are behaving

I injured my neck 25-ish years ago and shrugs, ie traps, protect my neck and upper back as well as my shoulders.

I’ve never focused on my traps consistently but they developed pretty good from deads and rows but the lower trap is definitely the more developed part. I’m going to be doing heavy shrugs 3 times a week same with calves because I think they need the same type of training. Wondering what rep range I should be going for

I have massive traps and they’re basically the only muscle that I don’t train on purpose. I just do some heavy hang clean to warm up on my back days get my blood moving and feeling strong and my traps keep getting bigger
