Vashtorr scurrying back into the warp: “I fucked up. I fucked up bad. We gotta pack up all our shit and leave. Right now.”

I just feel happy that Gulliman will finally meet a brother who doesn't want to kill him and he'll be a little less depressed.

Roboute Guilliman, the Strategist teams up with Lion El'Jonson, the Tactician. The Empire is going to be led by a very, very dangerous and effective duo!

The Lion is also said to be the most like the Emperor in personality.

One of my favorite moments with the Lion (I forget the exact book and the exact wording) is when he asked Big E why Horus got to be Warmaster over him when the Lion is clearly better. Unlike his brothers, it wasn't jealousy but rather just a simple fact that he was better equipped for it than Horus. The Emperor responded by basically saying that all the Lion's brothers need to be praised and rewarded for their deeds whereas the Lion is competent enough to understand that being smothered in praise is just empty words, He basically equated titles and special treatment like what Horus and Dorn get to good job stickers for toddlers. The Lion didn't need thanks, he just needed to know what the job was.

Can't wait to talk to the Lion about the fallen. Hopefully we don't get a power sword through the gut for that question

The Imperium absolutely needs the Lion to come back. Guilliman got his hands full with everything. Sure, Guilliman is a highly competent general, but he would have been dead many times if it wasn't for the Emperor's aid and that can't last forever. Guilliman is an administrator foremost, not a warlord. He needs to focus on strengthening the Imperium's infrastructure to make it into an invincible war machine to survive, like Shang Yang did with the state of Qin during the Warring States Period. As to why it needs to be the Lion, of all the surviving loyalist primarchs, he's the most versatile. His strategic mind enables him to successfully run a campaign on multiple fronts. Dorn is best at conducting sieges, Russ is single-minded, works better when he has a single specific target to destroy, Khan is a hunter, Corax is a guerilla fighter, Vulkan keeps dying. Even during the Crusade, Lion conquered more planets than his brothers. His skill in blade is only matched by his genius for warfare. The Lion needs to be the General, while Guilliman needs to be the Regent administrator of the Imperium, much like Malcador, running day to day and reforming the Imperium to make it more efficient.

Of all the Primarchs, save perhaps Mortarion, Lion El'Jonson stands apart. Partially this is due to his taciturn nature - a brooding silence hangs over him at all times. Yet there is something more... something buried beneath his noble exterior. Perhaps this is a result of his upbringing, growing to maturity alone in the monster-ridden forests of Caliban. Even at a council of war, the Lion moves like an apex predator. He is always watching, always planning, always hunting. He unnerves even his brothers." From malcador the sigillite. Loyalty is it's own reward ❤️‍🔥💚🦁.

I believe that a watcher just gave him a can of white monster energy and that’s the reason he woke up, no other answer shall do

He also inherited his father's "so bad, it caused half his sons turn against him"-caliber parenting.

Vashtorr: Can we talk about this first??
Lion: You may talk to my sword...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Lion embodies what is means to 𝘣𝘦 a Primarch the most. He's a one-man powerhouse, a formidable fighter, a ruthless tactician, a sensible diplomat, a brilliant naval officer, a capable leader, and an indomitable will. Though Curze is still my favorite, I've gotta tip my hat to the Lion of Caliban, first among demigods. He's gotta be my favorite loyalist.

When the imperial fists compliment your construction efforts then you made a seriously impressive fortification

And on Terra, ancient hidden speakers set into the Golden Throne crackle to life with a blare of static and deep artificial voice thunders out "FUCKING FINALLY!"

It'll be interesting to see the dynamic between Bobby G and The Lion. Wonder if he'll stick around to help curb some of the more prominent threats to the Imperium or if he'll just screw off and attend to his ultra-secretive knightly business.
