Sometimes when we don't understand a verse it's because it has meaning in the ancient Hebrew culture. The parables with the good eye and bad eyes was used because the culture believed that there was a good eye and a bad eye and a bad hand that led to evil etc. That's why he said, if it leads you to do evil then cut it off or pluck it out. We have to refer to the ancient Hebrew/Jewish culture and beliefs.
