English had always been my second language yet I still get confused and mess something up. So if you're trying to learn another language and you feel like you're messing up your pronunciation, grammar or spelling, just remember it's normal and it's every mistake you correct is one mistake less in the future! Keep going, you got this! Currently trying to learn french and I'm having a really hard time self learning and getting distracted all of the time. I memorize words with Leitner Box, and after a year I learned around 5000 words. Of course, I can't use all the words, but it'll help me to understand native speakers better.

I'm not a native speaker but I can assure u that after knowing the 3k words you'll start to figure out the meaning of the words that you don't know also self learning works best if you're gonna interact with native speakers and honestly English is so easy and fun to learn so don't give up 💜

Yes 20 000 just like : put it on, put it up, put it down, put it back, put it in, put it out, put it outside, put it inside, put it by, put forward, put backward, put upward, put downward, put aside, put beside. At the end you need 10 words and you are good to go.

Am I the only one who learned english.. uhm.. passive?
I got some basics in school ok, but school english doesn't do much in my country. Well as I grew older I was interest in english content and so I watched more and more of it without really thinking about it. I played games, watched tv shows and watched some youtube..
I can understand pretty much everything now.
I think it's called learning through emmersion.

Not sure where she got that from. You will be fine with running around with 3000 words. That being said, I recommend reading a lot of books, your vocabulary just expands like crazy.
