In tonight's top story: Millions of North Americans remain under air quality statements due to the smoke from Canada's wildfires, heightening the focus on the health effects of the thick haze. Eric Sorensen looks at how the haze is affecting outdoor workers and where it's expected to head next.

The B.C. government has unveiled a series of immediate and long-term measures to address staffing shortages at Surrey Memorial, one of the province's busiest hospitals. Neetu Garcha reports on how doctors are reacting to the provincial government's solutions, as the federal government unveils its $78-million prescription to address Canada's health-care crisis.

The Arctic could see all of its summer sea ice disappear much earlier than expected despite efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, according to new research published in the journal Nature. Heather Yourex-West explains the consequences of the vanishing ice.

Plus, with summer around the corner, many Canadians are set to hit the highway for a road trip. So, how are gas prices looking? Anne Gaviola has more.

And the Canadian federal government is increasing security funding for Pride events, in response to a surge in open aggression towards the LGBTQ2 community by far-right groups. As Touria Izri explains, this rise in hostility is preventing some people from running for public office.

News just because it happened in Ontario. Get over yourselves.

When Alberta was suffering the same fate of smoke from forest fires three weeks ago the media back east barely mentioned it.
Now that it is in their territory, the media can't stop talking about it.

Just think, the ones living in big boxes are the ones that are responsible for what's happening, can't maintain those big boxes without the fossil fuel economy that the adults/parents use to maintain their lifestyle

As long as people keep breeding, we will have these problems. My landlord has 3 kids, and each of those have 3 kids....of course there's no room in hospitals, schools, and cities.

there are also indoor plants you can buy that help clean he air in your home too
this could be especially good to have in retirement homes and daycares things like that where there are many people in the age groups of people who are most at risk
I heard p-100 masks are best over n-95 if you can get them
you can also get air purifyers and also get quality filters for your fans to try to catch any particulates in your home too
try to recirculate the air in your car and home if you can

Over 100 million acres of similar forest in Canada. Millions of acres wiped out by fire annually.

None of this land may be spared on which to construct housing.
