How to Set Up Ticket Tool Bot in your Discord Server - Support Tickets

In this video I'll be showing you how to set up Ticket Tool bot in your Discord server. Using Ticket Tool you can add support tickets to your Discord server. This will allow members to report issues or get a direct line of contact with server staff.

Having a ticket system in your Discord server is useful as it allows members to report any bugs in your server, such as features that aren't working or issues with bots. Additionally, you can also set up Ticket Tool bot so members can report anyone breaking the server rules. As your Discord sverer grows it can be difficult for staff to keep the server moderated, by allowing members to submit support tickets for moderation issues the server staff can be quickly alerted to any rule breakers.

Support tickets have many uses in a Discord server. Another option is to set up Ticket Tool bot so members can submit information or ideas to the server. This way staff can filter out the tickets and choose what is useful.

Using Ticket Tool also allows yourself or your staff to troubleshoot issues that they may be having. This is particularly useful if your server is complicated, or features tutorials or guides.

When setting up Ticket Tool we recommend setting up a specific role for support staff. You will need to give this role to anyone that you want to reply to opened tickets. By having a specific support staff role you can choose which server moderators are capable of responding to staff. Some moderators may not want to answer tickets, allowing you to prevent their server channel listed to becoming flooded with open tickets. Additionally, you may feel comfortable having someone respond to tickets, but not have the typical power of staff members.

When you set up Ticket Tool you will want to create a support category that all open tickets will be added to. This will make it easier for staff to filter through the tickets as they're all located in the same location.

To open a ticket a member will need to click the envelope button in the support tickets channel. By pressing the button a new channel will be created that only support staff and the ticket opener can view.

To ensure that the Discord ticket system works correctly you will also need to add the read message history permission for the ticket opener. This will allow them to see any messages that were sent before they had accessed the channel.
