Are you a beginner in the stock market and and confused by the term "gap fill"? When I was a beginner to the stock market and just getting started I remembered many terms out there that I truly had no idea what they meant. That's okay! As a new trader and investor it's perfectly normal for you to not understand some of the trading and investing terminology that exists. The good news is that when it comes to "gap fills", the answer is very straight forward. The first step I will show you is what a "gap" is when it occurs with a stock, and then from that point it becomes very easy to learn about what a "gap fill" actually is. If you are someone who is a beginner to the stock market and wants a quick explanation of some common investment terminology, then look no further. Let's get to it!

So, will a gap fill if the wick trades thru, or does it fill only if the body closes the gap? Haven't been able to find a definitive answer anywhere.

Question story short, bought BA at 135 in March 2020, watch the stock every day, naturally I sold last week and it went up to 233, I sold at 211. Watched your video and I see a gap 11-5-21 at $213 to $216 and the most recent 11-12-21 at $223 to $226. Would both gaps be filled at some point? I’m assuming it would probably happen in the same move most likely? Thanks for the videos. I watched this stock everyday all day for past 20 months. I’ve seen it do this many times over this time and anticipate a pull back. This video definitely gave some more clarity on its potential move. I know “don’t fall in love with a stock” and sold to break the relationship but have watched it so much that I’ve kind gotten used to the patterns. Obviously not perfected or I wouldn’t be writing this as we speak. I was just buying and holding and feel confident that in 2 to 3 years Boeing will be back but doubling your money in three years time isn’t that good I guess. My buddy is a trader at Charles Schwab and convinced me to sell. He said I was being stubborn just holding forever. Anyways sorry for the long winded message.

Hey Clay, can the candle wick fill the gap or does the gap needs to be filled by the body of the candle?

Thank you from a beginner 👍👍
I kinda have an idea of averaging down
My question is averaging up
What are the fundamentals when it comes to averaging up and not be concerned about your average costs?
When you are up 10%, 20%30%, 40%....gains?
Thanks for your time!!

👍 nicely said. But isn’t there more to the gap? now you explained what the gap is. But…. What’s your thoughts on gaps having gravity? Why does it seem like when a gap is made or a gap is filled, does the price react to the gap? #2 does a open market gap hold more strength vs a pre market gap? And 3rd. 😁 the missing volume of shares when a gap is made. will it be a stronger magnet for returning. 😁 4th, time frames. Gap on a 4hr but not on the daily or hr chart. So 4hr vs gap on a 15min chart.

So gaps are always created between market closings and openings? Or can they occur intraday?
