Thank you for covering a topic most professionals and people find taboo. As someone who suffers from BPD, we often get shoved to the side because we're "treatment resistant." In reality, we need someone to be by us and walk alongside us through life's up and downs. Thank you for bringing awareness to this!

I was diagnosed with CPTSD and BPD in my forties. The best therapy for me has been moving to the country, no neighbors, just my husband and our dogs, growing a garden and painting. Getting away from society is what helps me stay calm and regulated.
Great videos on this channel 👍 Thanks for shinning a light on mental illness 🙏

As a Borderliner, I’m sending love to all my fellow people with borderline!
I’ve managed to better myself with almost all my symptoms. They are still a problem of course but it’s getting a lot better! I can recommend sports to you all! The gym is literally like self therapy!

I just lost a relationship to this disorder. I feel so bad for her. She can be such a beautiful person, but when borderlines have an "episode" and get into that black and white thinking, all hell breaks lose. I was viewed as bad, and treated accordingly. I admit I made mistakes. I didn't know alot about this disorder and I fed into it. I have regrets, and a whole lot of coulda, woulda, shouldas. I pray one day our paths cross again. I really hope she gets the help she needs.

29:14 i think this is one of the most important sentences when it comes to your mental illness: it's not your fault, but your responsibility

He is so compassionate and knowledgeable. This was very nice to watch. He mentioned the example about reasons someone would blow up & making the chains..& coming to the conclusion of them not being a horrible person… If it’s a personality issue, how would someone differentiate between the disorder and your actual true personality? Some symptoms with bpd are irritable/aggression.. how can you know of a person is just plain mean or if it’s the disorder?
Either way, thank you for the information 🙏

Thanks for spotlighting this topic! As someone with BPD, unpacking the stigma behind my illness is so much help among the community and within ourselves to feel supported, seen, and heard. We are still people. We may have difficulties in emotional regulation, but conversations ease the situation for everyone involved. For others with BPD, please hang in there and find mental health professionals and a support system passionate and committed to your care because we will survive and can get through this. Sending all of you best wishes! ❤

This was really informative. I could listen to Dr. Mattu talk all day. He is incredibly skilled in this field. As someone who has an ACES score of 8, I have had a lot of issues. I found myself very interested in mental health issues

I wasn't able to reply to someone in the live chat, you'll know who you are, but in case you see this comment, I'd like to say I'm sorry for your loss and just keep on working on managing any negative emotions and don't give up hope. <3

I'm only 17 but I'm 95% sure I have BPD. My dad also has it so I know what it looks like. I'm just scared that it will take years before I can get actual help for it. My dad has torn himself and my family apart, I'm not going to be like that. I want to get help so I can get better for myself and the people I love, he doesn't. If it turns out I have BPD, I'm going to do my best to be the best version of myself for everyones sake.

45years living with bpd. it's a chore! maintenance is key!
edit: dbt is a GODSEND, and a refresher course needs to be available for when mindfulness starts getting ignored. bring us back to center.
I need help with depression, eating, sleeping and not suffocating my favorite person! but there are no cheap dbt groups to join

Just started the video. Hoping you guys aren't as biased as doctors, over the clients gender. Being male with BPD gets me very odd looks when I say it as my disorder. And my personal "favorite", "don't only girls/women get BPD?"
No, very clearly men get it as well (points at self)
Anyone suffering with BPD, just remember. You can manage this! It's a nightmare learning to do it, I am still trying my best to learn how to cope. Looking back on how far I've come in the last 5 years, all the things I didn't think i would survive, I have because of my CBT skills and the DBT I have learnt. What I'm getting at is you are not alone/crazy/overly emotional or any other negative self perception! You can manage this illness and you can be the best version of you regardless of how awful the moment feels!! ❤️

It took 15 years for me to finally be diagnosed with BPD. I have found out the hard way that so many of us that have this condition are put into “The Too Hard Basket” by professionals.

What about a video about the difference between symptoms of narcissism and BDP? Because Many narcissists are BPD, many people assume they are interchangeable, or the same thing. And it can be very stigmatizing.

I am studying psychology and this is one of the topics and diagnosis I want to get into. It is almost always misdiagnosed.

I really appreciate him being here and he was extremely helpful but I wish he didn’t use the word “problem” so much. It can be hard to hear when you have BPD.
