I think this is a big reason why I don’t crochet more. I like to just go at it and not have to stop to figure out what I need to do next. This was encouraging. Thanks

I am a beginner crocheter at age 54 after having a stroke, I thought learning to crochet would help heal my brain. I’ve been working on learning to make one grannie square for over a year and guess what…I successfully completed one square yesterday 🎉 I felt the same accomplishment as I did the day I earned my graduate degree. 😅 not giving up & not being afraid to make mistakes made huge difference.

I find it ironic that I found this video today, it was confirmation for my last project. I just finished an afghan (my design) done in double crochet and single crochet. It was done in a rush for a friend who had to have emergency surgery to have her foot removed. I wanted to have a blanket for her, to comfort her in her recovery. It turned into a prayer blanket with me praying over every stitch and it needed to be "mindless" because my mind was elsewhere. I loved that I had a gift to share and it meant so much to her. Mindless is good when life is overwhelming💕

Crocheting helped me to quit chewing my fingernails at age 8. Then at age 50 crocheting helped me to lose 100 pounds. Keeping my hands busy was the secret to each success. Also, it definitely helps when you have stress in your life, as well.

I make single coloured granny squares for this reason. They will eventually be turned into a blanket. Another advantage is that they are portable.

I find your cat situation very relatable. My cats are always running around when I'm making educational videos for my students. My students tell me they've seen my "crazy cats". Last year, my students gave me a box of cat treats as a goodbye present.

Sitting on the couch surrounded by the fam, a cup of coffee and a mindless project...HEAVEN. Thanks so much for these fantastic ideas! 🙌

I love this! I took up crochet to help with my adult ADHD. It is like therapy for me, so complicated designs defeat my ultimate purpose. I appreciate the affirmation that "meditative" crochet has its own special value.

This is exactly what I needed to watch today. I have been mindlessly looking at my yarn stash and patterns, my fingers itching to crochet but my head not into any of the patterns I have looked at. Not sure why I didn't think of this before...I guess I needed someone else to give me a little push to get me out of my head. I love your channel and find you very interesting and inspirational, no matter what project you are working on/suggest. Thank you!

Crochet Crowd's never-ending granny square is always my go to when i need a break. And the cool thing is the pattern lets you do one, three, five, and seven strand projects. Its absolutely beautiful and fun.

Have you ever used the stripe randomizer online? You just enter numbers of colors (I used skein counts) and it gives you a random arrangement of the stripes, and if you don’t like one you just click for another! Made one of my fave blankets using it.

For me my favorite mindless project is a hibernation blanket. I forget what the stitch is called but it’s just chain however many you want, single crochet every other stitch with a chain in between stitches and then single crochet chain one on every row. I found it on Crochet Crowd’s channel a few years ago. It’s called Hibernation Blanket.

Like others have said, I needed this today! I just love the pictures of the cottages with the yarn and the beautiful projects. That’s what my dream cottage would look like if I lived alone. Thanks, Elise!

In January, after all the pressure to finish the Xmas gifts, I decided to get up-to-date with baby blankets. I always have a few on hand when the good news happens. They're small, easy and cheery❤

I have been giving a thumbs up to your stuff for a little while now and even saving some of your stuff for future projects. But this is the video that made me subscribe. Also going to find ?HanJan? And ?Lucy? Addict 24 blog? sounds right up my alley. This only makes nearly a dozen of you in subscribed to in at least two years. I’m really picky. I love you teachers who share my love and passion for growing this talent of crochet. The Lord provides all of my yarn to make free gifts and I’m very blessed by you who share your gifts and knowledge so freely for those of us so eager to learn❤

I love mindless crochets. A favorite of mine is a simple triangle cape for your shoulders. I do corner-to-corner using one skein of multicolored yarn. I keep them in my car and give them away to the shivering woman in the restaurant or theater or classroom or conference.

Thank You. The shawl will come out great, I think. There are lots of beautiful ombre yarns to choose from.
