watching this video i really doubted setting the Power mode to Energy - saving and changing the inactivity shutoff settings would do anything for when you are actively playing a game but i am seeing a fair amount of comments suggesting it actually worked for them so thanks for this tip. However i do think Turning itself off when playing a game is more likely due to overheating, so if anyone who has this issue i recommend making sure your console(any console with a fan for cooling) has at least a hand space of distance from any surfaces and is not in a small cupboard with 3 or more sides closed off. if something is to close to the vents it can disrupt the airflow and in some cases overheat. Most if not all modern Consoles shut off automatically if the GPU or CPU reach a specific temperature to protect the Console from potential damage. as Consoles become more powerful it will take even better cooling systems to not overheat.

Before I saw these video I sam many videos, so I changed my thermal paste, cut one wire to the phone. Tried different types of thermal pastes used another fan and nothing worked, I would turn the xbox on load my game (efootball) and 30sec to 1 minute into match it would just turn off. I was thinking it's to do with heat but feeling the xbox it seemed cool, the fan was not producing hot air at all.
I followed you guide, and I just finished a match in efootball.

My xbox keeps heating up when i play madden 24 on my xbox series s and i have it on top of my dresser so air flow should not be an issue but evrtime i hop onto madden 24 it waits a few minnutes then it keeps shuting the game off then i have to restart the game with offensive linemen at my qurterback so i dont know how to fix it pls help i cant even play one game without it over heating but when i play other games like minecraft or gta it dosent do it but games like madden 24 23 and fortnite and even apex legands does this aswell so pls help

two years later. just got a new xbox series x (my xbox one day 1 shit the bed on me) i have been having issues with it just turning off in game (especially since i played ranked play so its beyond infuriating)

I have an xbox i play roblox on and when i play a game that has a whole lot of animations like heroes battlegrounds it will just turn off and when i turn it back on it says it overheated, but is there a way i can fix this? because i dont have a lot of roblox games to play on xbox and the good ones will just turn my xbox off.
