What is an Amiibo?

I swear to god, I just watched over a dozen videos about amiibo and I still don't get it. What is the point?

I thought it would be cool to play as your amiibo too and customize it make it different colors and even give it alternative parts in ssb! Then I can have a skeleton bowser or a half zombie charizard! Then you can fight your friends with different moves and stats and see who is better and yes the amiibo will also learn while you are playing it. But that didn't happen.

Okay I was confused about what an amiibo did for SSB. I though it would be a trainable character you could play as and it grows as you use it. That would have been much more useful. But this is still cool I guess.

thanks for explaining but i still dont get how it "learns" moves from your matches in Super Smash. uhh so the super smash i remember depended on one's skill, not their amiibo. So what's really going on here? If i play someone that has an amiibo and i dont, do they get an advantage?

I dont know if you have a normal fan base that expects you to open like that, but when you said it like 6 different ways(and when you said some little joke after each statement) I got really confused as to what i was watching the video for.  you lost your point, or you didnt know what you were talking about so you distracted the viewer.
