Honestly I don't mind the "I'm good" line. Maiar have gone bad before. All that power, woven into the form of a man and thrown down to Arda with no memory, like a baby, to figure shit out, surrounded by dangers and needing to brave the elements, this being could have easily embraced his darker and more aggressive, ruthless instincts, this was hinted at a few times previously. I'll agree that they could have worded it better but by stating "I'm good" he's declaring that he's no Sauron. He's better, he's not going to fall from grace and spite his creator for the sake of ego.

They turned the typical priest/father chant when doing an exorcism "from x you came, to x you shall return"
Then the "I'm good", oh my fucking god.
