We recently got birds (and yes they are in a cage so my cat can’t get them) but she did scare them so whenever my cat actually attacked, I sprayed her

She never came close again to that cage
But she is still good buddies with me

My parents got rid of my 2 cats that I had for 8 years (since I was a kid) because they bought expensive new furniture and they didn't want them to destroy it. Two years after that, I turned 18 so I could legally get them back from the shelter. It turned out that one of them died because it got sick a month after they left them at the shelter. It was a healthy and happy cat. The veterinarian at the shelter told me she likely got sick because of the high stress. Fortunately, the other cat found another good home. The most heartbreaking thing was that after just learning that my beloved cat died, the workers at the shelter were very mean and basically blamed me for leaving them. I was sobbing too hard to tell them the story, so I just left. It has been a couple of years since my last visit there, but remembering it is still very saddening. Don't ever leave your cats because they can't behave. They're just like 2 year old baby
Oh, and recently, I adopted a homeless kitten. And I promised myself that I will take care of it the best I can because I couldn't save my other cats...

We never declawed our cats, but we did take in a poor declawed cat that our neighbor threw outside.
He was the sweetest little baby. I took him in from the cold, wrapped him up in a blanket and held him like a baby and he never made a peep or try to move. He was such a silent boy, and was always in our laps.

My cat is declawed and he has been his whole life. Don't blame me my parents did it years before I was born and he is very healthy still. (He is 21 turning 22 in Oct.)

My parents declawed my cats only in the front. Everyone blames me for their "pain", but my oldest cat still brings us birds, mice, rats, and bugs. Our youngest has never had any problems and the only reason why we declawed them is so our oldest wasn't destroying our expensive furniture. And before you come at me in the replies, it was not my choice to declaw my babies.

I’ve tried to get my mom to clip one of my cats claws many times. Not declaw them but clip the claws. Her claws are to big for her feet so they are always out she gets stuck on things all the time because of it and I feel like it would be good for us and her to clip them

I've yelled at my old dead cat (we had to put him down for it's own reason) because he was fighting our other cat (my family's). I couldn't do anything else because either ways, I could've gotten hurt as bad as my father. He couldn't walk for a bit because he got some injuries to his foot from the old cat. The cat attacked any cat in our house, even our youngest one. So I've had to yell at him and I kinda regret it. It was the only way to distract him from attacking 😔

I have two pet cats and whenever they do something they aren’t supposed to I politely ask them to stop. It sounds stupid but it works if you do that enough times
