I have a Queensland Heeler living with me now. Picked up as a stray. We actually managed to find the owners but they didn't want him back. Wasn't looking for a second dog but he is definitely living his best life now ☺️

I found my pit in the forest. He had his 4 legs ....but was almost dead from starvation.... 20 lbs body weight!! He has been a great dog for the last 10 years that I have owned him and I keep him at his correct body weight of 65 lbs.! He is a sweetheart, too. (Note: He had been a fighting dog, based on his injuries and the area he was found in.) Still is a real sweetheart of a dog!!

When he was about 3 my dog had his back leg amputated. The vet told us how amazing animals are in adjusting to this trauma, and he was right. Boo took a few weeks to navigate stairs, and I put extra throw rugs on hardwood floor so he wouldn't slip, but I think that was it. It never slowed him down at all. He's 8 now and isn't as active, but he never saw himself as disabled. It's wonderful that Nala gets to be the happy girl she was born to be. ❤
