Dog with three legs rescues baby otter from river

Gus the golden doodle lost a leg due to cancer. But even while going through his own battle, he saved a life – rescuing a baby otter from Minnesota's St. Croix river.

Jed my pup is a tripod too. Left rear had to be amputated after three different surgeries which didn't work because he kept escaping from his pen and playing with our other dogs. It didn't slow him down at all. Still, that was the end of hunting boar, that's how it got broken. He's a German Short-hair.
I got so lucky when he decided to be my master.
He's never saved another animal, but there are three people that wouldn't be alive today if he hadn't saved them. A young girl kayaking in the Trinity River was stuck upside down under some thick overhanging tree branches, and he just happened to see it and got our attention, I got her out and on the bank, thought she was not going to make it, but after what seemed like an eternity performing C.P.R.
she finally started breathing again!!
Again on the Trinity, a friend had fallen down a ravine and was unconscious. I had just got out of the river and taking off my wetsuit when I heard him barking, which is very unusual. He hardly ever barks. So I go check it out and there's Mike. I thought he was dead too. Just knocked out from his head hitting a rock.
Got him up and drug him bag to camp just before dark. If not for Jed, we would've never seen him, at least until the next day.
And me, if it hadn't been for Jed absorbing all my pain after my little brother Jason was taken from us, I would more than likely drank myself to death. He NEVER left my side for any longer than it took him to handle his business. I couldn't go to the bathroom without him being right there. He would even jump in the shower with me, and he HATES showers. Once I realized just how devoted he was to me, I had to quit drinking, if not for anything else but to let him be a dog again. I can't even say how much he means to me, other than to say that I would gladly give my life for him, and I can only say that about very few people.
Great pup you got there, saving that baby otter.
Jed would've more than likely ate him.
