Why throughout Vader's years, did he never use force lightning?

2nd reason is not true as Malgus and Starkiller in TFU dlc used it with mechanical hands . 1st reason is the only reason, if he tried to summon force lightning, his life support system would short circuit.

Expanded lore was a mistake. If you just watched the original movies you'd naturally assume the emperor, Vaders master, was uniquely learned and experienced enough to do it

I always wondered why Vader doesnt just put wires from his still remaining flesh and connect them to his cybernetic arms so he could use the lightning. All he needed was to upgrade his suit and he'd destroy Sidious.

So the real question is why didn't he ever pay Kamino to clone him a new body and transfer his powers and mind like Palpatine did eventually?

Since lightening has no problem passing through metal, i think the real reason why Vader does not use force lightening, is because he is just to cool to use it. 😊😊

He CAN use it. The lighting would come from the stumps of his arms. He doesn't practice it or use since it's impractical given it would destroy his own suit and shit off his life support.

He could, but without his actual hands he couldn't focus it properly. So he never used Force Lighting.

Third reason, he doesn't need it

Because they wanted the Emperor to do something different from what we had seen in the previous two movies. There is literally no other answer.

Vader simply doesn’t need it… he knows he’s overpowered in the first place

He couldn't do it with the suit; that's understood.
But also, I always thought the revelation of ROTJ was that Vader wasn't able because he had actual remorse buried in his heart: that force lightning required hatred without remorse; that while he was driven by intense anger and pain, he was always conflicted and never fully committed to hatred for self-gain; that he could never completely shake Anakin; that Palp accepted Vader as Sith because of his extreme force power, but resented having to always assist Vader in overcoming his emotions of self pity and remorse (i.e. Vader was Sith by proclamation, but never Sith at heart, and thus never able to tap ultimate Sith powers like lightning; that there just was too much actual love in his life (Shmi, Padme, Obi) underneath the pain and deception and selfishness that fueled his Sithness.

He used it once accidentally wiping his behind and decided it was just too dangerous.

Imagine if Palpatine just shut Vader off when he tried to throw him down the pit.
