The answer is very simple actually.

He needed to wait until Luke joined him in a battle against the Emperor over a giant chasm, ensuring they have the high ground.

Adding that scene with Sideous electrocuting Windu yelling power was a nice touch!

He wanted to go on Maury first and be 100% sure he was the father.

Has anyone noticed that earlier in Empire Strikes Back, Vader says "I'm sure Skywalker is with them" meaning that he already knew Luke was his son or just figured it was a coincidence that Luke happened to have the same last name as him

The answer is simple, you pittiful little being...his feeble skills were no match for the power of my dark side...

Has anyone noticed that the cracked glass that Darth Vader was in front of was in the shape of a heart?

Because Sidious took his XBOX One. Paybacks are hell.

So now the question is how did Emperor Palpatine find out?

Damn, Mace got fried at the end. I've always wondered if Luke had accepted Vaders offer in on Bespin and they killed Palpatine, would Vader have eliminated the Sith rule of two and decided to expand the Sith empire as it was before Darth Bane?

it would have been a stupid decision. Even if he could (he couldnt at the time, ateast not on his own, at least not without Luke....) killing him would have been a terrible choice at the time. Sure, he'd eliminate him, but all of his power would be lost. Vader would have to make sure HE inherited Sidious' power in the Empire, he would have had to ensure he'd rule and eveything didnt just fall into chaos as a result of Palpatine's death.

The answer is simple. It’s not that Darth Vader couldn’t kill Luke it’s because he WOULDN’T.

Most awesome Love the clips from episodes III and If I were Vader I would've been tempted to kill Palatine right then and their but I would know that I still wouldn't be strong enough and that I would need help to do so and so I would wait to see if I could turn my son to the dark side 😀👍📽📼🎬🎟🗡

That makes Vader a poor Sith though, if you require assistance to overthrow your master then your succession of him/her will only dilute the strength of the Sith Order. Vader has not grasped the true reality of Sith Philosophy, he has only realised that betrayal is part of the Sith way, something which should have been obvious to him after his final encounter with Dooku.

If Anakin/Vader never lost his limbs, well 3 limbs and if he never have burned internally and externally, he would've killed Palpatine easily, not easily lol

My opinion is he knew one on one he most likely would loose to Sidious although I'm of the opinion though not organic /cyborg Vader Anakin he would have prevailed. Just more a mental thing.

Organic Vader/Anakin could match Sidious in a duel but Cyborg Vader would have a difficult time. That's why he needed Luke cause in his mind he felt Sidious was just too powerful. He felt he needed to develop Luke to fully destroy the Emperor as he said on Bespin, together.
