Been fighting a new smart thermostat for two days now, we had maintenance done to our system yesterday and the tech couldn’t figure it out either. Your video is the only video that helped and I now have AC in 90° weather, thank you!!!

Saved me a ton of time. NO WHERE in the actual directions from the MFG is this even indicated. Installed the Thermostat in summer and have not needed heat till yesterday. You saved us from the coldest Christmas since I we got rid of our exes.

I cant find anywhere that shows how to wire the darn thing though. How do you wire for heat pump? Where does the orange wire go?

For 2 heat and 1 cold what to choose ?

For me, it was my heat pump's reversing valve position-it was pushing hot air in and cold air out by default, I had to switch it to B.
Thanks though, they didn't even mention the advanced setup choices in the app or instruction manual.

I have the Sensi WiFi Touch thermostat. Not sure if if is the Sensi design or how mine is wired (no wire in W2, and no jumper from W/E to W2) but in Winter, when Aux heating strips are being used (25F outside), my Sensi does not annunciate that the Heating Coils are on. :( Beside being a huge annoyance, due to s loose signal wire to my outside Heat Pump, the outside HP would occasionally not turn on when it should have. This wiring has now been fixed but what happened was that the Aux (aka Emergency) Heat Strips (3000 Watts) turned on and kept the house warm. My Sensi does not turn on a bright red LED nor does it show any thing wrong on its display (outside HP not working but Heat Strips are ON). So after a few weeks of this, my local Power Company sent me a letter ! They advised me that my Electrical Usage was much higher than ever before and I should hire an electrician to come and check it out! The actual HP wiring fix was found by a handy neighbor who saw the cheapo electrical tape unraveling on the control wires. Had my Sensi somehow told me that my Aux/Em was on full time, I could have saved about $150 in my electrical bill. Neither did Sensi send a WARNING email that other WiFi thermostat manufacturers do. Since it is WiFi connected, Sensi should be able to download an update to fix this obvious problem. I wrote an email to Sensi 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing in reply. Very sad.

I have the same thermostat with electric air handler, where I put it in heat mode, the heat out the vents is at 100 degrees for about 5 minutes, then it’s like just the fan running because the vents temp cools off to about 80 degrees, AC works fine, simple 1 stage air and heat

Big home network security risk, you are basically giving the vendor “Emberson-Sensi” remote access to everything on your home network, not only your thermostat but all your devices even your baby monitor. More importantly, you have no way of seeing the Sensi cloud connection that is set up between them and your router.
Ask yourself why your sen|si wifi thermostat connection needs to go through the vendor cloud and back to your network. This is called a MAN in THE Middle attack only your giving them permission to do it.

If you have to wear rubber gloves to operate it, I don't want one.
