Yu was the Serbian version of empire, domination over other peoples, not unity. This created resistance among other nations, especially the Croats, who at that moment replaced the Austro-Hungarian monarchy with the Serbian kingdom of Yugoslavia. Croatian opponents of that regime killed the Serbian/Yugoslavian king during his visit to France. During the Second World War, Croatia took over the role of Serbia over that area, while Serbia remained within its borders faithfully serving the Nazis just like the Croats. Serbs were the first in Europe to eliminate Jews from their country. Serbian Chetniks continued to massacre non-Serb civilians outside of Serbia. After the establishment of Yugoslavia, the Serbs were partially stopped, but after the death of Josip Broz Tito, they continued their dream of a great Serbia, attacking all member states of Yugoslavia. The leader of the Croatian Nazi NDH, Ante Pavelić, and the leader of the communist SFR Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, were two Croats who, although on opposite sides, broke the backbone of Serbian nationalism and its expansion into the countries of the former Yugoslavia. 1. an interesting fact is that Ante Pavelić's parents were born in Krivi Put, which is translated into English as Wrong Way, 2. an interesting fact is that all the peoples of Yugoslavia and Serbia's eastern neighbors use the name of the Serbian people = Serbi for the word that describes the feeling of itchy.
