The country of Yugoslavia existed from 1929 until 2003. The capital city of Yugoslavia was Belgrade and it was dominated by Serbia. The most important reason for its collapse was the tension between the Serbs and Croats. Yugoslavia broke into six different nations. On 25 June 1991, Slovenia and Croatia became the first republics to declare independence from Yugoslavia, followed by Macedonia later that year. Bosnia declared it’s independence in 1992 while Montenegro and Serbia split up in 2006. The collapse was complete in 2008 when Kosovo declared it’s independence from Serbia.

The reason it broke up is that literally no-one in Europe and the US wanted a strong and united Yugoslavia.

Ive never heard a Croatian or Slovenian express nostalgia for Yugoslavia. But have heard such nostalgia from many Serbians

Wasn’t just tensions between Serbs and Croats. This had existed and was a problem for a very long time historically, but the government was good in trying to help alleviate these tensions. Outside powers who disliked Yugoslavia helped fund and support these radical racist movements— Serbs hating Croats and Croats hating Serbs, etc, so Yugoslavia could be destroyed and these new individual countries could be robbed by the west and local turncoats. We miss you Yugoslavia.

It existed from 1945. But if you want to include first Yugoslavia than it's from 1918, just with the other name

I advise to seperate 1st (Kingdom) and 2nd (Socialist Federal Republic) Yugoslavia.

It is very confusing when you merge them.

Technically Serbia IS Yugoslavia. And technically it still hasn’t fully collapsed. Vojvodina still hasn’t declared independence yet.
