I have a Magnaflow on my ‘99 Yukon. Has a nice throaty idle and throaty acceleration. Nice and quiet inside the cab. Finally rotted out after 19 years so I purchased another one. Great sound!

The old man at the muffler shop highly suggested magnaflows, said the high school kids usually go with flowmasters

Magnaflows flow far better than Flowmasters.

Love the explanation between the flowmaster vs magnaflow. The exhaust depends on it.

I went with Magnaflow on my 5.7 V8 Tundra and I’m really glad I did. I did not want an aggressive sound. I wanted just enough kick to tell you a real V8 is under the hood. I got exactly what I wanted.

Simple clean explanation. Thanks! I understand that the magnaflow would sould better on inline 4 Honda's.

Pretty damn happy with my 18" Magnaflow + resonator deletes on 2019 Silverado. Beautiful low growl cold start and accel tones, not obnoxiously loud, very little idle speed drone. Paired with KN cold air intake its butter. No tin can noise like with Flowmaster. I Just want the same tone but a tiny bit louder. Considering Magnapack glasspack, or Cherry Bomb glasspack.

If you care about power stay away from chambered mufflers. Had to chop plenty of flowmasters on the dyno. On a stock silverado with cold air and decat it went from 287whp to 303whp by just cutting the 40 series off and made more power across the board.

Are you serious man It's not going to depend on what engine you have which one makes more power The magnaflow is a straight through flow design with no restrictions It's going to make more power on everything

I need to tone down my hemi ram for cold eBay exhaust has a through style muffler but after 2 years it's pretty loud and drone can be loud. I am thinking Large magnaflow to quiet things down....

Your comment at the end "if you have a v8 just get the flomaster". I have been going back and forth with either a flomaster, borla, or magnaflow. Thank you.

Got a Super 40 Flowmaster on my 2001 V6 Sonoma and it sounds a whole better than stock, and it actually has improved the mileage and not to mention Flowmaster is the least expensive compared to the Magnaflow or Borla.

Magnaflow may give more hp! That Flowmaster has baffles which restricts and cuts ur power down... Sounds meaner but actually may slow u down a tad. For speed, long tube headers and offset or straight through muffler... Doesnt matter the brand really.

I've run nothing but Flowmaster on all the vehicles I've owned. I love the sound of them, I had a super 40 on my 96 F-150 302. It sounded like a 5.0 foxbody. On 04 Dodge Ram 1500, with the Hemi it came with a Magnaflow muffler. It didn't last long. It got a super 40, then a 44, but I wanted more aggressive. So, a Super 10 was the answer. It sounded amazing, like a truck should sound. I like this muffler so much that when it was time to buy another truck, the Super 10 found a new home on my 20 Ram 1500 with the Hemi. Sounds like a muscle car.

I thought Magnaflows had stainless steel and rockwool filler not fiberglass?

I've used both brands on many different vehicles (mostly GM V8s). I'm team Magnaflow! My #1 reason for 'performance' mufflers/exhaust is PERFORMANCE (not sound)- minimal restriction, maximum horsies, potential MPG. Magnaflow is straight-through and dynos prove their superior performance over baffled type like Flowmaster, Flowpro, etc.- especially in forced-induction engines where maximum flow is vital. My #2 reason for performance muffler is sound quality. Magnaflow (and similar designs such as Borla and ALL sportbike performance exhausts) delivers a smooth, deep tone resembling a more expensive machine (more refined, deeper, usually quieter) without the hollowed out banging on a metal trash can sound that a hollow, baffled Flowmaster (or FM copycat) usually offers. There are exceptions, both brands offer multiple products (I had a quiet and refined Flowmaster 70series on a Limousine in service), and I've had rowdy (typically smaller) Magnaflows, but the opposite is usually true. I currently have a GMC Envoy XL with a 5.3 V8 (LS-327 BABY!) with several performance goodies including cat-ectomy. Without the kitties to smoothen and quiet the sound (and popping) it is imperative I have a smooth refined sound like Magnaflow! But "Mo powaa babeh" is the main reason.

I agree, they should have a good muffler on from the factory!👊

I had a FlowMaster on my old Ranger that had a 4.0L V6.
Im saving up for a FlowMaster FlowFX dual exhaust for my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road with the 3.5L V6.

Yup, I can confirm this mans words. Have FM on my Camaro and MF on my Tacoma, they both get compliments. People think my Tacoma is a Subaru pulling up lol
