They tell u it takes about 400 mile to get louder, I did my homework and it says it. Just bought one myself. Dont want Flowmaster

The thing that attracts people to magnaflow systems is that they give you a nice rumble sound at idle and they aren’t loud just for the sake of being loud. If you want super loud, you buy Flowmaster, Borla, or you do straight pipes. The beauty of magnaflow is that you get a good sound without the drone, but it will also get loud when you stop on the gas. Yes, they do get louder as they get older, but it’s a very gradual change and you’re not likely to notice it as much.

If you want power with sound, Borla or Magnaflow is where it's at. If you just want to make a shit ton of noise and no power, then Flowmaster is where it's at.

Magnaflow is great for daily drivers. They're not excessively loud and have significantly reduced drone, but still have a nice little rumble at idle and good volume when you really step on it.

I had a Magnaflow cat back exhaust on my 2000, WS6 Trans Am. Very nice exhaust. Quiet at cruise, no drone and a nice powerful tone under hard acceleration.

Didn’t have to flex on us that hard with that beautiful view you have wherever you live.

Loud doesn't equal more power. It fine the way it is. A perfect balance of sound, and performance.

Magnaflow is made in USA, Flowmaster is made in China. Enough said. I don't care if the Flowmaster sounds better; I buy Magnaflow. Magnaflow also goes straight through which I prefer.

I've had the 15778 installed on my 04 GMC Sierra for almost 2 yrs now and felt it was too loud after I had it installed but it has gotten better or maybe I've just gotten used to it. This one is just like stock in that it's the single side exit which I wanted. Really other than the sound the biggest difference is that it's a larger exhaust so it flows a lot more freely with less backpressure which I really notice when coming down the mountain that the engine braking doesn't work near as well due to the stock exhaust holding it back. After I had it installed I was actually looking at adding a 2nd muffler to quiet it down some and found a good place where you easily cut a section of the straight pipe out and then add it but I've decided to give it some time to break in.

Honestly IMO I hate the flowmaster sound, when I was growing up everyone had those things on their mustangs and to me it sounds like it's running through metal trash can. I like the Magnaflow and is not raspy like Borla or Gibson.

What people don't consider is that every car and truck is build different. Every engine has its own unique sin wave of sound. A Mustang 5.0 sounds way different then a Toyota V8 Also Each vehicle has different insulation. A Nissan Titan is build different then a Chevy truck or F150. Then do you have Headers? Shorty's, Long Tube, High Flow Cats, No Cats, dia. of exhaust pipe, H-Pipe/X-Pipe, Dumps, side pipes. So take it all with a grain of salt comparing Mufflers Brand X vs Brand Y

I put the Magnaflow cat back system on 4.7L 4 runner.
Muffler was rusted out so needed a new one.
The cat back set up made it easier to DIY, since it could all bolt in, no cutting and welding.
And it has nice looking dual side exit tips.

Removes the resonator also.
IMO it is the perfect set-up.
Not crazy loud at idle and no drone at highway speeds.
But when you get on it, it is loud and growls.

I purchased nothing but flowmaster 50-70 series from ages 16-28 on my everyday driver trucks and always loved flowmasters. Now I'm in my 30s and have been waking up for work at 3 and 4 am 6 days a week with neighbors and kids, I've went with 22 and 24 magnaflow ovals the past 7 years. From my personal experience and opinion, magnaflow is where it's at and if it's too quiet for ya then you can always remove stock cats, replaced with high flow cats and ofcourse remove factory resonator or purchase a high flow one as well or even consider shorty headers with it all and it'll remain deep and mellow but it will definitely have more decimals while idling. Everyday pickup truck and suv drivers should not be loud and abnoxious because at the end of the day, it's only a truck and an suv not a performance machine from hell. If thats what your looking for then I suggest maybe a sports car or older muscle car that actually makes sense and sounds as it should being loud and abnoxious. Also, magnaflow lasts twice as long as the chambered flowmaster because of quality and material. Magnaflow makes entire kits for most and flowmaster doesn't yet. The flowmaster fx oval muffler is kinda similar to a typical magnaflow just again a little crisper and louder inside and out but it is stainless and it is only around $50 compared to 100 or 200 but remember guys, we pay for what we get!

It isn't only about sound! They're called performance mufflers for a reason...they're less restrictive than factory mufflers. Flowmaster-style mufflers are hollow metal cans with baffles and chambers inside. Those baffles and chambers cause exhaust turbulence, but they still flow slightly better than your average factory muffler. MagnaFlow-style mufflers have a straight-through design. They have practically no restriction.

I have a Magnaflow 14815 muffler on both my cars. 1990 Nissan 240sx swapped with a RB25det incline 6 cylinder with T67 Turbo 778 HP at 24psi and on my daily driver BMW 323ti E36 N/A inline 6 cylinder with bolt on mods and tuning making 300HP if I'm lucky lol... I have removed the cats of both cars but do run a resonator to delete any drone noise... On the 240sx it's very quiet because the turbo muffles the sound which is great because the exhaust noise doesn't overpower the noise of the turbo spooling.
On the BMW on the other hand it is actually louder during acceleration and on the highway.
Overall I think Magnaflow makes great products with a nice deep sound and no rasp. However you need to purchase their higher end products. I have seen and heard some of their entry level products and I wasn't too impressed. With Magnaflow if you're willing to spend a little extra for their higher end products you will definitely get what you pay for and it's well worth the few extra bucks. Also the stainless steel has kept up really well on both cars. No fade, the tips still look like new when they are cleaned.
The only time they could be a little loud is during really cold weather on cold starts but that goes away after a minute or so.
Magnaflow is a product I definitely stand behind.

I had a 98 F150 4.6 with true duals, magnaflow cats, and magnaflow oval mufflers. At idle it was barely louder than stock at all. There was some noise enough to to know you have a nice exhaust tone while driving, but nowhere near obnoxious. It sounded great on wide open, but still not annoying. I had it on the truck for about two years, and NO, the mufflers never got louder at all. My 98 just got totaled for me a few weeks ago, so now have a 2014 5.0 STX. I think I am going leave the resonator on, cut out the original muffler, and install a magnaflow 12576 in it's place. I will try to find a shop that actually knows what they're doing, and they will make a hanger that won't rust out and break for the rear of the muffler. Then, on the end of the exhaust, I have a 3.5" slash cut stainless tip with a rolled edge, and I will finish it off with that. I had Flowmasters on my 1970 Torino, and I finally cut them out. Honestly to me, they sounded like crap, and I couldn't wait to get them off. They're leaning on the back wall of the garage, and will likely never get used again.

Either way the real difference is getting rid of about 25-50 lbs of OEM muffler weight. I would go Magnaflow myself. Medium to full acceleration will produce a great sound. Driving with a gentle foot of the loud pedal will keep the neighbours happy but they will still hear you, it just sounds better, kind of rumbly.

Honestly this confirms that I need that Muffler haha

I hate overly loud cars, I feel like It would make me hate driving my daily. Magnaflow sounds like the right pick for me

Flowmaster makes noise
Magnaflow makes power

Flowmaster goes on stock trucks for people to say they have "pErFoRmAnCe" parts
Magnaflow goes on built trucks that already have performance parts.

Flowmaster is a yapper ankle biter dog constantly making noise
Magnaflow is a quiet dog whose bite is worse than it's bark.

Magna is for performance
Flowmaster is for attention seekers

I don't want noise just performance, Magnaflows YouTube video seems to show a very quiet cat back exhaust on an Accord, I'd be cool with that.

Does it sound good outside of the truck?? I personally don’t want a bunch of drone in the cab.
