A blue shark stranded on a beach chasing kahawai in Palliser Bay, South Wairarapa, New Zealand, on Easter Sunday, April 2012. It couldn't get itself back into the sea.

It broke my heart to see the shark in such distress. I'm sure you were scared to help the poor shark, but your compassion gave you the strength and you to saved it. Very brave indeed. Well done!!

it's simply gorgeous how the shark's blue-white color gradient perfectly matches that of the deep ocean blue-white waves in the background. It's as if the sea itself is imprinted on it.

Sad that the shark had to suffer a couple minutes, but it would have been too dangerous to try rescue it when it had still so much energy. Well done guys!
