I've had this idea too that being present can happen in a snap.

To declutter the mind all you need is to be in the present moment, it happens automatically.

" Be still and know that I am God. " Because when you are still, you are in sympathetic stillness with God. Union is attained.

When I first went present for a few days, I actually started thought by thought and after a few moments I was present. Was a good start for me.

Don't suppress your thoughts, just accept them, let them go, and separate yourself from your thoughts. Know you are not your mind.

I struggle every day/morning to de-Clutter my mind which always ends up doing the unimportant pressing clutter amidst a bottle of wine ... every days the same. Unlike it was in my 30's now 60

I agree with what he said, But “becoming present” is certainly easier said than done for most people… So, application and how to do that is very important… then people can began to apply to themselves….

To be able to withdraw from thinking, the person have to be able to abide in his or her own body. By following the breathing ias thught by the Buddha is the best strategy to declutter the mind. We need to embody our mind first in order to meditate.
