I just pulled the EGR off of my golf alh, it was extremely clogged up which would probably explain why it felt so powerless, I'm so glad I finally got the tune and kit to delete it, I ended up cleaning and scooping out all that nasty sludge buildup in that pipe. Delete your EGR, it'll help a lot.

Pretty sure if you know how to drive a car with an ALH you won't have issues with the intake getting coked up . Don't put around shifting at 2k rpm ( lugging) . You've got to bang on them . Take the long way home hit the highway or the long straight and beat em up. They can handle it

20$ after shipping you cant beat that .. thanks for the info

Does doing this (EGR delete) cause a check engine light or throw any codes?

I am about to remove my EGR and intake for cleaning on our 1999 New Beetle TDI. Would be great to install this now while I have everything apart. Nice clear concise video!

Do you happen to know what size that tap is for the boost gauge? I have a intake manifold with that pipe I got used would be nice to have a boost gauge

Just purchased a delete for my Jetta tdi, but curious do I need a tuner for it so it doesn’t go into limp mode? Or am I good to just install the delete and go? Also, don’t have a boost gauge to install into it and don’t have a need for it is there a way to plug the hole for it or how would I go about doing that?

Completely deleting the EGR valve not a good idea... if you dont want it just block the exhaust pipe going to EGR... cause on the EGR valve there is a safety valve that closes when you turn off the ignition so blocks air into the intake, when your turbocharger fails and leaks oil into the intake and as we know, diesels can run on oil, especially hot "runny" oil, so the RPM then goes crazy and you cant stop the engine, cause its running on air and oil and it will die in matter of seconds/minutes... Also, the EGR valve doesnt result in much carbon buildup.. Carbon buildup only happens to people that dont care and are driving their TDI in city 50kmh on 4th gear 1200rpm and never actually drive more than 2-2-5k rpm, when you drive in higher RPMs and put actually a decent load to the engine, the EGR valve will completely CLOSE... I drive my 1.9tdi PD 96kw ASZ pretty normal, i dont care about consumpiton, just giving the car what is was build for and needs.. shifting at 3k rmp and when i wanna go accelerate hard 4K rpm, i recently changed the EGR because the valve was kinda broken, didnt move much and it leaked oil, i took a close look on the intake walls and there was literally just a thin layer of dust/carbon, nothing noticable

What do you do with the small hose that runs into the top of the egr after it's deleted ?

Apparently egr delete on alh does not have many benefits. True or false?

Those are some ugly welds. I would imagine more expensive ones would be cleaner.
